Limousine services transport around 400 million people every year for a wide spectrum of reasons. The business employs some 275,000 people and among those 400 million passengers being carted around, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that there are some who, bereft of decency, treat limo services and staff poorly. We’re here to share what we thought would’ve been obvious:Â how not to be a terrible limo passenger.
Truth be told, it’s not difficult to be a courteous passenger whilst utilizing limousine services. It’s not generally difficult to be courteous in casual elements of everyday life, but we digress. While you’re under the care of limo services, here are some courtesies you’ll want to keep in mind.
It’s not your car
Among the various and sundry reasons people employ limo services, a lot of them are alcohol-fueled adventures with large groups of people. Sports games, wine tours, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and the like are all raucous affairs that, while fun, tend to treat the vehicle like a frat house basement. We aren’t saying you’re riding around in Buckingham Palace, but keeping it fairly tidy and cleaning up after yourselves afterward says a lot to the driver and those in charge of the limo services you selected. Leave it better than you found it.
You’re being driven by a stranger
Let’s be perfectly blunt here. Your limousine driver is a human being who should be treated exactly how you’d wish to be treated. Too many passengers treat the limousine driver, who literally has passenger safety and well-being in their hands, with disdain. Don’t be those people. There’s no reason nor place for it in civilized society. Be polite and listen to what they have to say. After all, they’re making sure you’re leisure time safe while you get to relax.
Make responsible reservations
More and more limo services are implementing certain fees if people back out on reservations or don’t provide accurate headcounts. We know that life is full of surprises that come out of nowhere, but some people go far beyond reasonable expectations of flexibility. They assume that a party bus will accommodate anything they throw at it, all without telling the company. It’s our goal to accommodate our customers to the best of our ability, but that job goes both ways. Have a conversation and try to stick to set plans as closely as possible. Above all, when things change, let us know. With a little notice, accommodation is a whole lot easier.
You’ve probably noticed that these tips are all commonsensical courtesies. It’s not that hard. So, for the next event that you’re planning on taking a limousine, remember these tips and everything will be as smooth as the ride we provide.
